Dr. Ann Marie Kenny-Chapur

Professional Support for Your Child’s Special Education Journey

Personalized guidance to help you navigate IEPs, evaluations, and school systems with clarity and confidence

Guidance and support

I work closely with parents to understand their child’s needs and what supports may be available within the school setting. Whether you’re just starting to ask questions or feeling unsure about next steps, I help you make sense of your options in a clear and manageable way.

I guide families through the special education referral process and support you during important transitions, including moving from Early Intervention (EI) to the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), and from CPSE to the Committee on Special Education (CSE).

Together, we determine the most appropriate path for your child—whether that means accessing supports within general education, developing a Section 504 Plan, or pursuing a referral for special education services.

My goal is to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions you are making for your child.

How It Works

1. Schedule a Consultation
Start with a one-on-one conversation about your child’s needs.
2. Understand Your Options
Discuss options such as requesting supports through general education or referring your child to the Committee on Special Education (CSE), Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), or Section 504 Committee. I’ll guide you on what to ask for in terms of interventions and/or evaluations. If you’re further along in the process, I can review evaluations, IEPs, and 504 plans.
3. Receive Expert Guidance
Get clear recommendations and next steps.
4. Ongoing Support (If Needed)
Continued guidance and advocacy throughout the process.
